Health

Recently, I've become more and more concerned about health issues. Maybe it's because of my loved ones health situations and so on. Just the other day, I came across 2 very interesting articles --

1. It's a miracle

A women in her vegetative state since November 2000 suddenly awakes for three days just last week or so. She told her loved ones that she is all well and even managed to see her grandchildren for the very first time. Doctors have not found any reasons why she could wake up after all those years. All they could tell the press now is that it's truly a miracle. The women's family members thanked God with no hesitation, to send her back every so often and tell them that she was fine. After the three days, the lady went back to her vegetative state again.

If every vegetative state patient could do the same, then this world would be a much happier place, don't you agree? Because what's worse than being alive like dead?

2. Anti-obesity program

Singapore plans to end its anti-obesity program in schools as parents complained that overweight children were being singled out and teased by classmates.

I find this very interesting because I've experienced this program myself when I was in Singapore. Everyone tried to keep fit not to get over weight because the PE teachers would weigh us every term. I'm lucky to have always been at the right weight for my height. Over weight students had to take a run around our school in the morning when we are reading in the Hall. Underweight students had to drink milk during our break times.

Every policy has it's advantages and disadvantages. Personally I like this programme. It's creating an incentive to keep fit fit fit!

Wishing everyone good health!

I think you should drink lots of water! And take lots of rest. The main reason people catch a cold these days is cos they wear too little to fight this enormous weather change. So please wear more clothes! ^^ hope you get better soon... TAKE CARE!

I like the articles cited in this entry...interesting ar ha...I believe miracle would happen at any time and we should not give up our beautiful lives so easily...yes!as you always say...be positive!!~~^0^
and...I do think some ppl are hurt by the program...because the children are grouped under different heads...some are labelled as fatty and some are labelled as skeleton...they might be self-contemptuous...
ar ha...all in all... a funny entry!~
Take care~~~

Dearest ruby 姐姐:
I totally agree with you that little children would get hurt with that program. They do, I have evidence. Even if they don't say anything, everyone knows how it feels like. But if they think in a more positive way, they should feel glad that even the school is helping them to become more healthy. We have a very busy study schedule in Spore. There's hardly time set aside to do any exercise. When we get home it's usually already in the evening. No one wants to move then.

But I used to climb the stairs to the 14th floor I stayed on everyday after school. That's the only exercise I get, other than the compulsory PE lessons and running in school. In general, I felt much healthier in Spore than in the UK.

About miracles. Hehe. They do happen once in a while when you believe! ^^

Miss you!!!! Do take care of your health too!!!!!!!! >.< XxXxxxXxxXXXxx
